We wish you a Merry Christmas!

Here is Superman to wish you a very Merry Christmas! Excuse the formula on his chin.

We had an enjoyable Christmas eve party at our house with several family members joining us. Afterward, we spent some time with Jeffrey, Tina, Jordan and Justin opening some of our presents. We will open the rest in the morning.
Trust that all our family and friends have a real Merry Christmas this year! God bless you all!

I got a "new" hat!

Jordan needed a hat with all the recent cold weather that we have been having. One of Rachel's friends from school gave her a bag of clothes for Jordan. In there was this red hat with a Velcro strap to hold it on his head. At first he didn't like it, but then he decided it was OK. When I took it off of him, he kept trying to put it back on. Now, when it is really cold he can keep warm! He also got a lot of "new" toys to play with too.

Catch Up 2!

I don't know where the time has gone, but it doesn't seem like a month since I blogged. The month of November seemed like it flew by. Thanksgiving was here before we knew it and now it is gone too. My sister, Chris, came for Thanksgiving this year and we really enjoyed having her here. I was sick all week, but kept on working, so she and Rachel worked at getting ready for Thanksgiving. Chris stayed for the weekend and we got to have Jordan on Friday night and all day Saturday. He is such a little live wire. Never still a minute. He entertained us with his jabbering and dancing and just whatever he wanted to do. As I look back to reflect, I truly have so much to be thankful for. I am most thankful for my family (my wife, my boys, my daughter in law, my grandson, and my sister) this is what really makes my life on earth complete. I love you all very much. Have a great day!

Catch Up!

The end of a long day!

Playing ball with Aunt Chris
Like my new "Pooh" crocs?

Just spit out the pacy for a drink out of a staw.

Daddy consumed with a gadget.

Such an innocent look!

Grandma and Jordan cuddling

Mommy and Jordan having a little cuddle time.

Here he and Aunt Chris are having fun pushing the puzzle box around and beating like a drum.

Here we have Jordan looking at his new bed that he got. It is a real nice toddler bed. He tried climbing up on it and then he also experienced falling off of it.

Rachel's birthday party

Here is Grandma Rachel with her precious grandson. He just walks all over now and he loves to sway to the music.

After revival service tonight, we had Tina's parents, Larry and Sharon Major, Jeffrey, Tina, and Jordan, along with Justin, Rachel and me here at our house for cake and ice cream. Here is a picture of the lovely cake from Hannaford.

A very special happy birthday!

Today is my wife's birthday. I just want to say that we are very blessed to have her as our wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. Rachel is a very kind and considerate person. She has the biggest heart that I think anyone could have. She is willing to lend a helping hand wherever she can to anyone she can. My very first trip to meet her family was for her birthday 26 years ago. There have been many happy memories since that time. I just want everyone to know that I got the best when I got her. Happy Birthday Rachel, I love you and wish you the best day today!

Today it happened! (Actually last night)

We had our first real snowstorm of the year last night into today. These pictures were taken about 7:30 am today. The first two are from our front yard and the other two from our backyard. Someone once told me that whatever the date is that you get your first snow is how many snows you are going to get. 28th = 28 snows, we are in for a long snowy winter. Time will tell. Enjoy!

Pictures, pictures, and more pictures!

Guess who???? You can go to Jeffrey and Tina's blog to look at all of these pictures that they had taken on Thursday. I wanted them to be the ones to post them. After all, Jordan is their son, and only my grandson. Click here or on the link below. www.jeffjr3.blogspot.com

Birthday Boy!

Well, it has been a year. Jordan was born on October 18, 2007 and we celebrated his birthday on October 18, 2008. Here was his arrival photo that I took at the hospital the day he was born. Look how much he has grown. There were around 26 there, even his little cousin Victoria.

When we got to his house he was just playing on the floor showing off his new haircut!

Here he is all ready to eat with his party hat on his head.

Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Major all the way from Pennsylvania for the party!

Here is Jordan lost in his pile of presents looking for his "favorite" present.

I think the drums will be the favorite toy!

This gentleman here is from the Russell church, he is celebrating 94 years young. He told me he can hardly believe it that his son is 70!

Time for cake. He just didn't dive into it like some kids do.

Guess who?

Bet you can't guess who this is? Someone had their picture taken for their first birthday, but you will have to wait until I have his parent's permission to display them.

Random shots of Jordan

Jordan, Chris, and I had fun playing after we were done with the deck.

Jordan is showing off his teeth in this shot.
This is how Jordan helped us work today!

Finishing touches!

The deck is now complete. Are we ever tired!!! We added the finishing touches today. We had an extra helper today, Jordan. He helped by sleeping the whole time we worked.

This is one of the ends of the deck so you can see that we went from rustic to classic with the lattice work.
These two shots are of the end so you can see the fine workmanship in the steps and also the little post light that we put on top of the stairpost.

Decked again!

This is the 5:30 update. The risers took a while to get them cut and then to get them level. As you can see, Chris is hard at work getting the right measurement for the handrail. We hope to finish it up tomorrow. You are welcome to stop in and see it anytime you want. We are available for hire on a very limited time schedule.

Here is the start of the railing. We have some lattice work to put up yet. This was about 2:30 in the afternoon.

This is where we were about 12:30 today. Just a few boards to close it off underneath, nothing fancy. It will hopefully someday have some shrubs in front of it.
